miracle.proclaim.repent.bless.[repeat]

So a couple of posts ago I shared the text that I was going to be teaching at CC. I know I have been slow, but I finally got around to getting you all the link to it. This was a very interesting text for me to teach. If you listen you'll hear the story of how this sermon came about.

I'd love any thoughts on the sermon if you have any...

here is the link to the sermon - acts3v11-26

here is the link to the handout - acts3v11-26

And thanks to Christine Canty for the honest/real words that helped form my thoughts!

thanks for reading everyone/anyone!

Rich,

I very much enjoyed your sermon! I have been sneaking into CC for the Acts series, its been great.

I loved your insight, one thing I was pondering on after your sermon was when you were talking about miracles.

Although you are absolutely right in saying that the miracles in yours and others personal lives is great, I wouldn't want to neglect the fact that God wants to heal the whole person, emotional, physical, AND spiritual.

In fact, if you just back up a few verses you can even see this in the healing of the man at the gate Beautiful; "he entered the temple with them, walking (physical) and leaping (emotional) and praising God (spiritual)."

The other pondering I had was in regards to evangelism, I think its important to realize why the crowd was there. The man that they had all known as a lame begger just got up and WALKED!

I think its important that we remember to both DO and TEACH, we have to remember that we have a mandate to follow in the footsteps of a Christ that constantly saw the impossibilities of this world bow to His name.

If we don't both DO and TEACH then all we have is theory, ideas without experience, and theory won't get us far.

That's not meant as a condemning thing, as much as a catalyst to thrust us into a life that is truly in the footsteps of Christs

Thanks for the link, Rich ;) I finally got a chance to sit down and listen to your sermon from 2 weeks ago. I loved it... be assured that all those hours of note taking did result in a great sermon (although I'm sure you'll be able to streamline the practice in future ;).

Thanks Jeremy for your thoughts! Yeah I agree with your thoughts on miracles, but felt like Andrea hit the overall conversation in the previous sermon. And with regards to evangelism I agree that we have to take the advantage of the opportunities. I appreciate you stopping by and sharing your thoughts!
